BcnTapas.jpeg
Welcome! We are so excited to introduce Sobremesa’s first-ever Culinary Tour, featuring the foodie hotspot of Barcelona, the city of my heart. I am thrilled to show you around my favorite sites and teach you to shop, cook, and eat like a local. My friends and I will guide you through the food, wine, and culture of the city of Gaudi and Ferran Adrià. We will tour, learn, eat, relax and be merry, with the splendor of the Mediterranean summer as our backdrop. Travel with us in true sobremesa style, sharing, socializing, savoring life at and around the table. I look forward to having you at my table!
— Chef Camila

Boutique Barcelona
June 24-July 3, 2017

The term sobremesa is all about the Mediterranean culture of sharing at the table over long, slow meals. At Sobremesa we take our time to relax, enjoy, savor, and socialize. Come with us to experience the real sobremesa in Barcelona, the city where Sobremesa founder Camila lived for 15 years. Traveling with Camila will allow you access to exclusive gourmet sites (tapas bars, cafés, restaurants, artisanal local shops) that only an insider could know!

The warm early summer weather will be a perfect backdrop to explore local beaches, and enjoy the longest days and shortest nights of the year outside. This first Sobremesa Culinary Tour, Boutique Barcelona, is an exclusive tour with very limited spots! We want this to remain a small group so that you can get the most out of your trip, and receive lots of quality time with Camila and the rest of our wonderful staff, so we will limit the trip to just 8 very exclusive spots.

Sign up soon! We expect spots to sell out very quickly!

About Us

Camila Loew, Founder and CEO, is the daughter and grand-daughter of intercontinental migrants, and has spent about a third of her life among three different countries (Argentina, US, and Spain). Her cooking style can be described as Mediterranean and produce-focused.

In addition to running Sobremesa, Camila teaches at culinary schools all around the San Francisco Bay Area: Bauman College (Berkeley), The Cooking School at Cavallo Point (Sausalito), 18 Reasons (SF) and Ramekins (Sonoma).

Camila holds a Ph.D. in Humanities and is a certified Nutrition Consultant. She cooks daily for her family of four. When she's not in the kitchen, you can probably find her riding her bike around Berkeley.

Julia Mallon Delves, Head of Operations, holds a B.S. in Nutrition Science from Colorado State University and a Natural Chef certificate from Bauman College. Founder of Trailside Kitchen, she developed the Trailside Method: a 6-week program of strategic eating for active lifestyles. In addition to working with people to strategically eat their way to better exercise performance, she is also a culinary instructor at Bauman College in Berkeley and is pursuing her MBA from Sonoma State University.

In her free time, Julia enjoys traveling, bouldering, hiking, backpacking, fly fishing, spending time with her husband and their dog, eating weird food, or being a mad scientist in the kitchen.

Shilpa Baliga, Barcelona Staff, grew up in the UK and holds a language degree from the University of Cambridge. She has lived and worked all over Europe, but for the last two decades has made Barcelona her home and knows all its hidden corners.

She has worked in and owned restaurants there and is delighted that there is now a new, passionate focus on all things local and natural. She has a decade’s experience in culinary tours in Italy.

Shilpa loves cooking daily for her family of four, hiking in the woods around her home in the hills above Barcelona and volunteering at her children’s school and in the city.
